On Saturday, June 7, 29 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4781 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 31 offenders at external borders and within the country. 13 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 foreigner
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Germany due to security reasons. The person was returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
two citizens of Moldova were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by one citizen of Moldova was not initiated, the second person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – two citizens of Estonia and one – of Pakistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Moldova, two - of Latvia, two - of Belarus, two – of Kyrgyzstan, one - of Estonia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of South Korean, one - of Ukraine and one – of Sweden.
