Friday, June 5, 62 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4916 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 39 offenders at external borders and within the country. 22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
2 foreigners with forged documents were detected
at the Riga Airport Border Crossing Point, during immigration control, two Turkish citizens, who presented to border guards forged Schengen visas, were detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents.
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Georgia and one - of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; while at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Chaina, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document, as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia, one – of Czech republic and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – one citizen of Latvia, one – of Iraq and one – of Turkey.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, three - of Moldova, one – of Russia, one – of Azerbaijan, one - of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Poland, one – of Romania and one – of China.
