On Monday, June 30, 108 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5946 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 59 offenders at external borders and within the country. 32 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners are prohibited from entering and staying in the Schengen area; as well as to two citizens of Moldova, one – of Russia and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 11 foreigners
five citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Moldova, one – of Ukraine, one – of Russia, one – of Belarus and one - of Tajikistan were detected at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by two minor citizens of Moldova was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for one citizen of India.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 26 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, four - of Moldova, four – of Romania, two – of Latvia, two – of Georgia, two – of Serbia, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Finland, one – of Turkey, one – od Ukraine and one – of Hungary.
