On Tuesday, June 3, 123 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4525 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 46 offenders at external borders and within the country. 21 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; and to one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay. At the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova and one – of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
two citizens of Ukraine, one – of Belarus and one – of Nigeria were detected at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by one citizen of Belarus was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 non-citizen of Latvia
at the Terehova Border Control Point, one non-citizen of Latvia, leaving the country for Russia, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons – six citizens of Morocco, one – of Russia and one – of Yemen.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Latvia, three – of Lithuania, two - of Moldova, two – of Ukraine, one - of Belarus, one – of Denmark, one - of Kazakhstan, one - of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Finland, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
