On Saturday, June 28, 69 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5779 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 49 offenders at external borders and within the country. 22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purposes and conditions of entry and stay; as well as to one citizen of Moldova, one – of Ukraine and five of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
one citizen of Kazakhstan, who could not present a valid visa or residence permit issued by the Republic of Latvia or another Schengen Agreement member state, one citizen – of Belarus (female), who exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa and two citizens of Moldova, who exceeded the duration of stay in the territory of the Schengen countries specified in the visa-free regime, were detected at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points. Citizens of Kazakhstan and Belarus were held administratively liable, but the citizens of Moldova were not subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, two minor citizens of Latvia, who traveled with their father, a Russian citizen, and did not have a notarized power of attorney from the other parent for the children to leave the country, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons - two citizens of India and six – of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of USA, one - of Kazakhstan, three – of Romania, two – of Serbia and seven – of Moldova.
