On Thursday, June 26, officials of the State boder Guard have prevented 34 persons from attempting to illegally cross the state border of Latvia-Belarus, in total 5659 person have been deterred from illegally crossing the state border this year.
Overall, 12 persons are not prevented from crossing the border for humanitarian reasons this year.
36 offenders were detected at the external borders and within the country. At the external borders were detected 19 border offenders.
- One foreigner with false documents detected
One Uzbek citizen arriving in Latvia by truck and trailer has been detected at the border control point Pāternieki, who presented false Uzbek technical inspection voucher to border guards. The person has been held administratively liable. The roadworthiness certificate has been removed.
- Six foreigners are refused entry to Latvia
At the border control point Grebņeva and airport “Rīga”, entry into Latvia was refused to one Azerbaijani and one Uzbek citizen, because foreigners could not substantiate the purpose and conditions of entry and stay, as well as two German, one Italian and one Russian citizen for security reasons. Persons returned to the countries of departure.
- Violations of residence conditions have been detected for five foreigners
At the border control point Terehova and airport “Rīga” two Moldovan, two Uzbek and one Russian citizen who had violated the conditions of residence (no valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the visa-free period of stay) in the Schengen area countries were detected. Proceedings were not initiaited in case of administrative violation of two Moldovan and one Uzbek citizen, the remaining persons being held administratively liable.
In carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence regulations have been detected for 3 persons – one Russian, one Belarussian and one Lithuanian citizen.
Officials of the State border Guard have held administrative liability or prevented 14 persons from crossing the border for violations in the field of use of vehicle and vessels – three Latvian, three Belarussian, three Lithuanian, two Kyrgyzstan, two Ukrainian and one Estonian citizen.
