On Wednesday, June 25, officials of the State boder Guard have prevented 91 persons from attempting to illegally cross the state border of Latvia-Belarus, in total 5625 person have been deterred from illegally crossing the state border this year.
Overall, 12 persons are not prevented from crossing the border for humanitarian reasons this year.
62 offenders were detected at the external borders and within the country. At the external borders were detected 25 border offenders.
- Fifteen foreigners are refused entry to Latvia
At the border control points Terehova, Grebņeva, Pāternieki and airport “Rīga”, one Russian and one Uzbek citizen was refused entry to Latvia, because foreigners did not have a valid visa or residence permit, two British citizens, because foreigners did not have valid travel documents, one Russian, one Uzbek, one Turkish and one Moldovan citizen, because foreigners could not substantiate the purpose and conditions of entry and stay, as well as four Moldovan, one Ukrainian, one Russian citizen for security reasons. Persons returned to the countries of departure.
- Violations of residence conditions have been detected for one foreigner
At the border control point of airport “Rīga”, one Brasilian citizen has been detected who has violated the conditions of residence (the visa-free stay has been exceeded) in the Schengen area countries. No proceeding was initiated in the case o fan administrative offence against a Brazilian national.
- Exit from the country ir denied to two Latvian citizens
At the border control point of airport “Rīga” one Latvian minor citizen who has left to Moldova and did not have a notarially certified consent of at least one parent to leave the country independently, as well as one Latvian citizen who left to the United Arab Emirates who has a prohibition to leave the country, Persons are denied exit from the country.
In carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence regulations have been detected for 8 persons- two Russian, two Mali, two Uzbek, one Estonian and one Guinean citizen.
Officials of the State border Guard have held administrative liability or prevented 29 persons from crossing the border for violations in the field of use of vehicle and vessels- six Russian, six Moldovan, four Belarusian, two Latvian, two Kyrgyzstan, one Estonian, one Lithuanian, one Israeli, one Polish, one Romanian, one Ukrainian, one Uzbek, one Swedish and one Czech citizen.
