Monday, June 22, 23 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 6131 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 32 offenders at external borders and within the country. 7 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Somalia leaving Latvia, who presented to border guards an ID card of another Netherlands citizen, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for concealing one’s identity and using forged documents.
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 foreigners
at the Terehova Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons – two citizens of Lithuania, two - of Egypt, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one - of Ethiopia and one – of India.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Latvia, three – of Kazakhstan, three – of Romania, two – of Belarus, two – of Lithuania, one – of USA, one – of Armenia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Germany.
