Friday, June 19, 46 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 6027 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 29 offenders at external borders and within the country. 10 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
1 wanted citizen of Latvia was detained
at the Port of Ventspils, while checking the passenger list, one citizen of Latvia entered Latvia from Sweden, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was detained handed over to officials of the State Police.
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Turkey, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Uzbekistan was detected at the Paternieki Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons – two citizens of Lithuania, two – of Algeria, one – of Sudan, one - of Ukraine and one – of Egypt.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – two citizens of Lithuania, two – of Moldova, two – of Serbia, one – of Russia, one - of Belarus, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Romania and one – of Uzbekistan.
