Wednesday, June 17, 64 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5876 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 37 offenders at external borders and within the country. 14 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan leaving Latvia with goods vehicle, who presented to border guards a forged Driving Licence, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for using forged documents.
conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
two citizens of Uzbekistan, one - of Russia and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons – four citizens of Somalis, one - of Lithuania, one – of India, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Turkey, one – of Ukraine and one – of Egypt.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, two - of Latvia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Moldova, one – of Russia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Uzbekistan.
