Sunday, June 14, 97 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5701 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 21 offenders at external borders and within the country. 8 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Kazakhstan leaving Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged Kazakhstan driving license, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for using forged documents.
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 foreigner
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus due to security reasons. The person was returned to the country of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Russia was detected at the Terehova Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid travel document). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for Montenegro, who not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for one citizen of Ethiopia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, two – of Lithuania, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Italy, one – of Kazakhstan, one - of Moldova and one – of Ukraine.
