Friday, June 12, 155 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5399 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 40 offenders at external borders and within the country. 17 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
2 foreigners with forged documents were detected
at the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Tajikistan leaving Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged Polish Driving License, was detected; while carrying out immigration control, at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Somalia leaving Latvia, who presented to border guards an ID card of another Spanish citizen, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated were initiated for concealing one’s identity and using forged documents.
1 wanted non-citizen of Latvia was detained
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one non-citizen of Latvia entered Latvia, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was detained handed over to officials of the State Police.
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan and one – of Vietnam, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as to two citizens of Russia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Uzbekistan was detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons – six citizens of Lithuania, one – of Algeria and one – of Moldova.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – two citizens of Latvia, two - of Belarus, two – of Lithuania, one – of Russia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of France, one – of Georgia, one – of Israel, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Uzbekistan, one – of Germany and one – of China.
