On Wednesday, June 11, 46 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4979 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 47 offenders at external borders and within the country. 26 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 10 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Tajikistan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner is banned from entering and staying in the territory of the Schengen area countries; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to six citizens of Moldova and one – of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 6 foreigners
three citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Tajikistan and one – of Belarus were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). A citizen of Uzbekistan was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons - one citizen of India, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Tajikistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Moldova, four – of Latvia, three - of Belarus, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Russia, one – of USA, one – of Germany and one – of China.
