Thursday, July 9, 64 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 7698 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 34 offenders at external borders and within the country. 20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, during border control, one citizen of Uzbekistan entering Latvia presented to border guards vehicle and trailer technical inspection certificates with signs of forgery; the forged documents were seized and the person was held administratively liable.
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay;
as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Germany, one - of Russia and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Russia and one – of Vietnam were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by the persons was not initiated.
exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia (female) leaving the country for Sharm El Sheikh, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was prohibited to leave the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – one citizen of Latvia, one – of Lithuania and one – of Algeria.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 11 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – two citizens of Belarus, two – of Germany, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kazakhstan, one - of Moldova, one – of Romania, one – of Serbia and one – of Uzbekistan.
