Tuesday, July 7, 90 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 7563 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 62 offenders at external borders and within the country. 27 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 13 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Uzbekistan, one – of Ukraine and one – of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Russia, two – of Belarus, one – of Finland, one – of Ukraine and one – of Kazakhstan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
two citizens of Russia, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons – four citizens of Lithuania, three – of Estonia, one – of Russia, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Egypt.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 25 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Latvia, four – of Belarus, three - of Moldova, two – of Kazakhstan, two – of Germany, two – of Sweden, one – of Lithuania, one – of USA, one – of Georgia, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Great Britain, one – of Montenegro, one – of Poland and one – of Serbia.
