On Monday, July 7, 52 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 6374 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 13 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 52 offenders at external borders and within the country. 27 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Vjetnam, one – of Ukraine and one – of Tajikistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; to one citizen of Tajikistan, one – of Belarus and one – of Syria, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova and one – of Israel, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document(the validity period of the presented passport is less than 3 months); as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia (female) due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Uzbekistan was detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was held administratively liable.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 persons
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point two minor citizens of Latvia departing for Belarus, who did not have a notarized consent from the other parent (EU citizen) for the child to leave the country were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons - three citizens of Ukraine, one – of Estonia and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, three – of Moldova, two – of Latvia, two – of Russia, two – of Romania, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Great Britain, one – of Hungary and one – of Uzbekistan.
