Friday, July 31, 52 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 9061 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 30 offenders at external borders and within the country. 10 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Belarus and one – of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
five citizens of Russia were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document, exceeded the duration of stay specify in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by four citizens of Russia was not initiated; while one person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons - three citizens of Ukraine, one - of Russia, one – of Estonia and one – of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Latvia, three – of Belarus, one – of Russia, one - of Kazakhstan, one – of Poland, one – of Romania, one - of Tajikistan, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
