Friday, July 3, 91 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 7163 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 27 offenders at external borders and within the country. 15 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, during immigration controlconducting passenger profiling in the public area, one citizen of Afghanistan, who presented to border guards a forged Spanish ID Card, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of a forged document. The forged document was seized.
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to two citizens of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
one citizen of USA and two citizens of Russia were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime; were not in possession of valid travel document). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – two citizens of Estonia and one – of Latvia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 9 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – two citizens of Lithuania, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Latvia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Romani, one – of Germany and one – of Sweden.
