On Thursday, July 3, 53 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 6110 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 13 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 38 offenders at external borders and within the country. 14 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Turkey, as the foreigner could not could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; to one citizen of Brazil, who had already resided in the territory of the Member States of the European Union for three months during the previous six months, as well as to one citizen of Kazakhstan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit and to three citizens of Moldova, two - of Ukraine, two – of Russia and one – of Uzbekistan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 11 persons - six citizens of Lithuania, two – of Estonia, one – of Belarus, one – of Armenia and one - of Tajikistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Latvia, three – of Russia, three - of Lithuania, two – of Romania, one – od Poland and one – of Tajikistan.
