Thursday, July 23, 71 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 8624 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 42 offenders at external borders and within the country. 16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; while entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova, one – of Germany and one – of Romania due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Russia and one – of Azerbaijan were detected at the „Riga” Airport and the Terehova Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specify in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by the citizen of Russia was not initiated; while the the citizen of Azerbaijan was subjected to administrative liability.
exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two minor citizens of Latvia departing for Tyrant, who was not in possession of notarized consent from at least one parent for the child’s departure from the country, was detected. The person was prohibited to leave the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons - six citizens of Lithuania and one – of Pakistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Latvia, three – of Romania, three – of Tajikistan, two - of Moldova, one - of Belarus, one – of Lithuania and one - of Kazakhstan.
