Tuesday, July 21, 67 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 8413 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 44 offenders at external borders and within the country. 12 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport and the Terehova Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan and one – of Romania, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document;
as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Armenia and one – of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Uzbekistan and one – of Ukraine were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specify in the visa). The both persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons - one citizen of Estonia and one – of Senegal.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 30 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Lithuania, five – of Moldova, two – of Latvia, two - of Belarus, two – of Tajikistan, two – Germany, two – of China, one - of Estonia, one – of Belgium, one – of France, one - of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Romania, one – of Finland, one – of Ukraine, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Sweden.
