Thursday, July 2, 54 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 7072 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 49 offenders at external borders and within the country. 18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
1 wanted citizen of Latvia was detained
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia entering the country, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was detained and handed over to officials of the State Police.
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus, one – of Poland and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Azerbaijan was detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by the person was not initiated.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 12 persons – three citizens of Russia, three – of Egypt, two – of Estonia, one – of Belarus, one – of Lithuania, one – of Algeria and one – of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Lithuania, two – of Latvia, two – of Russia, two - of Belarus, two – of Estonia, two – of Kazakhstan, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Great Britain, one – of Moldova and one – of Mongolia.
