On Wednesday, July 2, 26 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 6057 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 13 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 48 offenders at external borders and within the country. 25 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 3 foreigners with forged documents were detected
At the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Russia leaving Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged Polish Driving Licence and one citizen of Germany – a forged Italian Driving Licence, were detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents. The forged documents were seized. While at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Belarus entered Latvia with a heavy goods vehicle and a trailer, who presented to border guards a forged Lithuanian Roadworthiness Test Certificate for trailer, was detected. The person was held administratively liable. The forged document was seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner is banned from entering and staying in the Schengen area, to one – of Ukraine, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; as well as to five citizens of Russia and one – of Uzbekistan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
one citizen of Ukraine, one – of Belarus and one – of Uzbekistan were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 persons
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point three citizens of Latvia, leaving the country, who were not in possession of valid document to travel to Great Britain, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 1 citizen of Russia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 22 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, four – of Moldova, three - of Lithuania, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Bulgaria, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Romania and one – of Tajikistan.
