Saturday, July 18, 18 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 8305 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 39 offenders at external borders and within the country. 19 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners
at the Pāternieki and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Romania, one – of Moldova and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 6 foreigners
three citizens of Russia, two – of Uzbekistan and one – of Georgia were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document, exceeded the duration of stay specify in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by the citizens of Russia was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one minor citizen of Latvia (female) departing for Tivat, who was not in possession of notarized consent from at least one parent for the child’s departure from the country, was detected. The person was prohibited to leave the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons - one citizen of Estonia and one – of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, two - of Latvia, two – of Russia, two - of Kazakhstan, two – of Moldova, two – of Germany, one – of Estonia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Poland and one – of Romania.
