On Friday, July 18, 37 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 7126 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 15 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 71 offenders at external borders and within the country. 43 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 17 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 citizens of Moldova and one – of Bulgaria due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 14 foreigners
10 citizens of Russia, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, were not in possession of valid travel document). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by one citizen of Uzbekistan was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 persons
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia (female) leaving the country for United Arab Emirates, while at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one minor citizens of Latvia (female) leaving the country for Belarus, who were not in possession of the notarized consent of at least one parent for the child's independent departure from the country, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons - two citizens of India, one - of Lithuania and one of Nigeria.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 24 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Moldova, four - of Belarus, four – of Lithuania, two – of Kazakhstan, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Great Britain, one – of Romania, one – of Serbia and one – of Ukraine.
