Wednesday, July 15, 72 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 8142 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 26 offenders at external borders and within the country. 13 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan, who presented to border guards forged Uzbekistan Technical Inspection Certificate for a trailer and MTPL insurance certificate, was detected. The citizen of Uzbekistan was subjected to administrative liability for using forged documents.

at the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of North Macedonia, as the foreigner has exceeded the permitted period of stay in the territory of the Member States of the European Union; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Germany due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Russia was detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specify in the visa). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons - one citizen of Russia and one – of Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 11 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Latvia, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Belarus, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Romania, one – of Finland and one – of Germany.
