On Tuesday, July 15, 41 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 7003 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 15 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 58 offenders at external borders and within the country. 29 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; to three citizens of Russia, two – of Belarus, one – of Ukraine, one – of Bulgaria, one – of Moldova and one - of Kyrgyzstan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 14 foreigners
12 citizens of Russia, one citizen of Uzbekistan and one – of Moldova were detected at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document (Russian passports without biometric data), were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime by 391 days). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons - two citizens of Estonia, one – of Kazakhstan and one of India.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 25 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Moldova, four – of Ukraine, three – of Belarus, two - of Lithuania, two – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one - of Estonia, one – of Greece, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Romania, one – of Serbia and one – of Germany.
