On Monday, July 14, 78 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 6962 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 15 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 53 offenders at external borders and within the country. 23 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan entered from Uzbekistan, who presented to border guards a forged Uzbekistan driving licence, was detected. The forged document was seized. The parson was returned to the country of departure.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 8 foreigners
at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova and one - of Great Britain, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; to two citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Kyrgyzstan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to three citizens of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
four citizen of Uzbekistan and one - of Tajikistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation in one case was not initiated, in other cases the persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 person
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia leaving the country for Antalya, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons - four citizens of Ethiopia, four – of Moldova, one – of Algeria and one of Eritrea.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, three – of Moldova, two - of Lithuania, two – of Serbia, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Romania, one – of Ukraine, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
