Monday, July 13, 41 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 7933 persons have been stopped this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 38 offenders at external borders and within the country. 16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners 

at the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Germany, one - of Russia and one – of Kyrgyzstan, due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner

one citizen of Tajikistan was detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation was not initiated.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia 

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia (female) leaving the country for Pathos, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was prohibited to leave the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons - 7 citizens of Lithuania, two – of Egypt and one - of Belarus. 

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Latvia, two – of Belarus, one – of Lithuania, one - of Austria, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Moldova, one – of Romania and one – of Ukraine.
