Saturday, July 11, 78 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 7861 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 37 offenders at external borders and within the country. 16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
1 citizen of Latvia with forged documents was detected
While conducting an immigration control on the A13 road, officials of the Daugavpils Service detected a Latvian citizen who presented Polish Driving Licence with signs of forgery to the border guards. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of a forged document, and the forged driving licence was seized.
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; to one citizen of Russia and one – of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners could not present the valid travel documents; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Russia, due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
two citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Ukraine were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by one minor citizen of Ukraine was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia (female) leaving the country for Istanbul, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was prohibited to leave the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons – two citizens of Estonia, two – of Lithuania, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Latvia, two - of Moldova, one – of Belarus, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Poland, one – of Serbia, one – of Spain and one – of Germany.
