Friday, July 10, 85 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 7783 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 27 offenders at external borders and within the country. 20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Armenia, one - of Kazakhstan, one – of Azerbaijan and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Russia was detected at the Terehova Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation was not initiated.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 7 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – two citizens of Estonia, one – of Belarus, one – of Armenia, one – of Portugal, one – of Romania and one – of Ireland.
