On Thursday, July 10, 96 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 6662 persons have been stopped this year.
In the past 24 hours, two persons have been admitted on humanitarian grounds, a total 15 persons. A total 13 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 45 offenders at external borders and within the country. 18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan entered Latvia with a good vehicle and a trailer, who presented to border guards a forged Uzbekistan Roadworthiness Test Certificate for the trailer, was detected. The person was held administratively liable. The forged document was seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; as well as to two citizens of Russia and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Uzbekistan was detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa by 240 days). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 persons
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia (female) leaving the country for Istanbul, who was not in possession of the notarized consent of at least one parent for the child's independent departure from the country, and one citizen of Latvia leaving the country for Larnaca, who was prohibited from leaving Latvia, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 9 persons - four citizens of Lithuania, two – of Moldova, two - of Mongolia and one – of Latvia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Latvia, four – of Moldova, two - of Belarus, two – of Lithuania, two – of Ukraine, one – of Russia, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Uzbekistan.
