On Tuesday, July 1, 85 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 6031 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 1 person was not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 13 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 47 offenders at external borders and within the country. 14 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Ukraine, two – of Moldova, and one – of Russia due to security reasons; while entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Turkey, as the permitted length of stay in the territory of the Schengen countries has been exceeded. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Russia was detected at the Terehova Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 persons
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia, leaving the country for Manchester, who was not in possession of valid document to travel to Great Britain, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons - two citizens of India and one - of Venezuela.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 30 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, six – of Russia, four – of Moldova, three – of Romania, three – of Ukraine, two – of Serbia, two – of Latvia, one - of Lithuania, one – of Tajikistan, one – of Chine and one – of Kyrgyzstan.
