On Monday, January 5, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 0 persons have been stopped this year. A total 0 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 28 offenders at external borders and within the country. 14 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document. At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Tajikistan and one – of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; as well as to one citizen of Great Britain, as the foreigner has already stayed for 90 days in the preceding 180 days in the territory of the Schengen Member States. While at the Pāternieki Border Control Point and the Port of Salacgrīva entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia and one – of Kazakhstan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
four citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Ukraine were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia leaving the country for Turkey, who did not have a notarized consent from at least one parent for the child’s independent departure from the country, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, three – of Lithuania, two - of Russia, two – of Georgia, one – of Latvia, one – of Romania, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
