On Thursday, January 29, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 0 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 30 offenders at external borders and within the country. 7 trespassers were detected at external borders, including that entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners. At the Grebņeva and the Terehova Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Belarus, two – of Russia and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 9 persons – three citizens of Lithuania, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia and one – of Tajikistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Russia, three - of Belarus, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Estonia,
one - Lithuania, one – of Bulgaria, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Macedonia
and one – of Moldova.
