On Tuesday, January 27, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 0 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 25 offenders at external borders and within the country. 7 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners
at the Grebņeva and the Terehova Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia and one – of Great Britain due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Kazakhstan was detected at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – two citizens of Ukraine, one – of Lithuania and one – of Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Latvia, two – of Russia, two - of Belarus, two – of Moldova, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Lithuania, one – of Bosnia and Hercegovina and one – of Kazakhstan.
