On Friday, January 23, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 0 persons have been stopped this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 38 offenders at external borders and within the country. 18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 13 foreigners

 

at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki, the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points and at the Port of Ventspils, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia, two – of Moldova, one - of Uzbekistan and one – of Tajikistan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel documents; as well as to three citizens of Russia, two – of Belarus, one – of Estonia and one – of Germany due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner

one citizen of Pakistan was detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by one citizen of Pakistan was not initiated.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons – two citizens of Tajikistan, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia and one – of Israel.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Kazakhstan, two – of Russia, two – of Kyrgyzstan, two – of Uzbekistan, one - of Belarus, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Great Britain, one – of Moldova and one – of Serbia.
