On Wednesday, January 21, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 0 persons have been stopped this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 32 offenders at external borders and within the country. 14 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected

At the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan leaving the country with goods vehicle and trailer, who presented to border guards a forged Uzbekistan Technical Inspection Certificate for Trailer was detected. The person was held administratively liable. The forged document was seized.

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners

 

at the Terehova Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Belarus and one - of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Tajikistan, as the foreigner is subject to a valid ban on entry into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area countries; while at the Grebņeva Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners

two citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Russia were detected at the Terehova, the Pātenieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid travel document). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia

 

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for Great Britain, whose travel document was not valid for travel to Great Britain, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – one citizen of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Gambia and one – of Somalia.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, two – of Latvia, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Romania, one – of Serbia, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Uzbekistan.
