On Monday, January 19, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 0 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 28 offenders at external borders and within the country. 16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Tajikistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; at the Terehova Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit and valid travel document; while at the Pāternieki Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigner is subject to a valid ban on entering and staying in the territory of the Schengen Area countries; as well as to one citizen of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 8 foreigners
four citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Tajikistan, one - of Belarus and one – of Russia were detected at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document; exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid travel document). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by one citizen of Uzbekistan was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – one citizen of Lithuania, one – of Algeria, one – of Eritrea and one – of Morocco.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 8 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Russia, one – of Moldova and one – of Serbia.
