On Friday, January 16, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 0 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 46 offenders at external borders and within the country. 21 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 2 foreigners with forged documents were detected
when carrying out immigration control at the „Riga” Airport border control point, one citizen of Russia leaving the country for the Netherlands, who presented to border guards a forged Polish ID Card, as well as one citizen of Somalia (female), who presented to border guards a forged Belgian citizen ID Card, were detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Uzbekistan,
as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to three citizens of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; as well as to four citizens of Bulgaria, one – of Moldova and one – of Kazakhstan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
three citizens of Russia and two – of Uzbekistan were detected at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, were not in possession of valid travel document). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia, departing for Great Britain, whose travel document was not valid to travel to Great Britain, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons – three citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Estonia, one – of Afghanistan, one – of Eritrea and one – of Somalia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, three – of Kazakhstan, three – of Moldova, two – of Russia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Latvia, one - of Estonia and one – of Serbia.
