On Thursday, January 15, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 0 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 36 offenders at external borders and within the country. 11 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Pāternieki Border Control Point one citizen of Russia, who presented to border guards a forged Norwegian Vehicle Registration Certificate, was detected. Person was held administratively liable. The forged document was seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 foreigners
at the Terehova Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia and one Germany due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
two citizens of Azerbaijan were detected at the Terehova Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons – three citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Albania, one – of India and one – of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, three – of Russia, three – of Moldova, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Latvia, one - of Estonia, one – of Greece and one – of Serbia.
