On Tuesday, January 13, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 0 persons have been stopped this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 32 offenders at external borders and within the country. 10 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected

At the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan leaving the country, who presented to border guards a forged goods vehicle and trailer roadworthiness certificates was detected. The person was subjected to administrative liability. The forged documents were seized.

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners

 

at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Belarus and one – of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner

one citizen of Belarus was detected at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – one citizen of Lithuania, one – of Ethiopia and one – of Egypt.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, three – of Serbia, three – of Uzbekistan, three – of Latvia, two - of Kazakhstan, one – of Russia, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Moldova.
