On Sunday, January 11, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 0 persons have been stopped this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 26 offenders at external borders and within the country. 13 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 1 citizen of Lithuania wanted by the Police was detected

During immigration control in Brunava Parish, Bauska Municipality, a Lithuanian citizen, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was detained and handed over to State Police officers.

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 8 foreigners  

 

at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova and two - of Azerbaijan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; to one citizen of Iran, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as to two citizens of Moldova and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia

 

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia leaving the country for United Arab Emirates, who was prohibited to leave the country, as well as one minor citizen of Latvia (female) leaving the country for Moldova, who did not have a notarized power of attorney from the other parent for the child to leave the country, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for two citizens of Lithuania.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 11 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, two - of Russia, two - of Moldova, one – of Lithuania, one – of Serbia, one – of Slovenia and one of Uzbekistan.
