On 3th September 2025, a rotation of experts of the State Border Guard of Latvia was carried out within the framework of the Frontex (the European Border and Coast Guard Agency) 9th operational period. After rotation, 58 Latvian officers, including 2 dog handlers with service dogs, will continue service duties in Croatia, Estonia, Lithuania, Serbia, Poland, Greece, Romania, Kosovo, France, Cyprus and Italy. Their task will be border surveillance, patrolling and obtaining operational information in close cooperation with colleagues from other European Union Member States.

At the same time, 60 Frontex Standing Corps officers from Estonia, Lithuania, Sweden, Norway, Austria, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Finland, Slovakia, Switzerland, Bulgaria, France, Portugal and the Netherlands are deployed in the structural units of the State Border Guard of Latvia responsible for border checks and border surveillance, using off-road patrol vehicles, including Frontex vehicles, as well as two Frontex Mobile Surveillance Systems.

The daily work of the State Border Guard of Latvia demonstrates Latvia’s commitment and practical support to Europe’s common security, helping to ensure order and security where it is most needed.
