On 6th August 2025 a regular rotation of experts was carried out within the framework of the 8th operational period of joint operations coordinated by Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency. 51 Latvian State Border Guard officers provide operational support to Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo, Poland, Greece, Estonia, Romania, France, Cyprus and Italy. Their tasks include border surveillance, patrolling and obtaining operational information while closely cooperating with colleagues from other European Union Member states.

Additionally, 47 Frontex Standing Corps officers from Estonia, Lithuania, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Austria, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Finland, Slovakia and the Netherlands are deployed in the structural units of the Latvian State Border Guard responsible for border checks and border surveillance, using off-road patrol vehicles, including Frontex vehicles. By hosting officers from other European Union Member States, the Latvian State Border Guard ensures the exchange of experience in organizing border guarding and patrolling activities at the external border, in return, as well as in the use of technical solutions in daily duties. This cooperation enhances the professional skills of both the Frontex Standing Corps officers and Latvian border guards, contributing to a safer and stronger Europe.

The daily work of the Latvian State Border Guard demonstrates Latvia’s commitment and practical support to Europe’s common security, helping to ensure order and security where it is most needed.
