On 16th April 2025 a regular rotation of experts was carried out within the framework of the 4th operational period of Joint operations coordinated by Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency.
58 State Border Guard Officers provide operational support to Romania, Serbia, Poland, Greece, Cyprus, Italy and Montenegro within the framework of Joint operations coordinated by Frontex. State Border Guard officers carry out their duties in other countries as individual experts, such as Dog handlers with service dogs, Border surveillance experts, Motor Vehicle Crime Detection officers, Advanced level document officers, Screening experts, Registration and fingerprinting Officers, Information officers, and also operate as crew members for technical equipment, including Offshore Patrol Vessel, Coastal Patrol Boat and Mobile Surveillance System. In order to ensure timely maintenance of the technical equipment of the State Border Guard of Latvia, within the framework of the 4th operational period, there was a change of Coastal Patrol Boat in the Lesvos island, Greece.
At the same time, 61 Frontex Standing Corps officers from Estonia, Lithuania, Sweden, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Rumania, Czech Republic, Finland, Italy and the Netherlands are deployed in the Border Crossing Points and Border Surveillance Units of the State Border Guard. Off-road patrol vehicles from Germany, Czech Republic, Netherlands, as well as from Frontex are involved for the implementation of border surveillance activities on the Latvian-Russian border.
