On 17 February 2026, Document Fraud Awareness Session was held at the Airport “Riga” Border Crossing Point, organised by Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency in cooperation with the State Border Guard of Latvia within the framework of the Frontex Contingent 7.
The aim of this Awareness Session was to improve knowledge and provide an overview of the latest trends in the field of document fraud detection.
The Awareness Session was attended by officials of the Examination Service of the SBG and Airport “Riga” Border Crossing Point, as well as Frontex Standing Corps officers deployed at the Airport “Riga” Border Crossing Point and in the “Pāternieki” Border Crossing Point
At the end of the Awareness Session, Frontex trainers highly appreciated the knowledge of the officials of the State Border Guard in the field of document fraud and a high level of organisation of training.
Organisation of this type of training in Latvia promotes both the professional development of officials and strengthens international cooperation in the field of document fraud detection, thereby promoting Latvia's contribution to the achievement of the European Union’s common security objectives.
