On September 21 and 22, the Chief of the State Border Guard, General Guntis Pujāts, was on a working visit to the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, where the 91st Board meeting of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX) was held.

During the meeting, a thorough discussions of the operational situation at the external borders of the European Union were held. Issues were discussed and decisions were reached linked to ensuring the FRONTEX Agency’s work.

Short-term and long-term planning challenges for the Agency as well as present matters related to the external border management were taken into consideration concurrently during the Board meeting.
