On Monday, February 9, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 30 offenders at external borders and within the country. 18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; to one citizen of Tajikistan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; while at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Belarus, two – of Uzbekistan and one – of Kazakhstan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
one citizen of Russia, one – of Tajikistan, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of China were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by one citizen of Uzbekistan and one – of China was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – one citizen of Colombia, one– of the Czech Republic and one – of Sri Lanka.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 9 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, two – of Moldova, two – of Serbia, one – of Estonia and one – of Poland.
