On Sunday, February 8, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2 persons have been stopped this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 28 offenders at external borders and within the country. 11 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners

 

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova and one – of Turkey, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia

 

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for Ireland, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons – two citizens of Russia, two – of Ukraine and one – of Lithuania.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Latvia, three - of Ukraine, two - of Belarus, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Moldova and one – of Serbia.
